Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using ShipRelay ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

ShipRelay is an AI-powered release communication platform that connects to your GitHub repositories, generates user-facing changelogs using AI, and delivers them via hosted pages, email digests, and embeddable widgets.

3. Account Registration

You must sign in with a valid GitHub account to use ShipRelay. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your GitHub account and for all activity that occurs under your ShipRelay account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to generate misleading, fraudulent, or harmful content
• Attempt to circumvent rate limits or abuse the API
• Share your account credentials or access tokens with unauthorized parties
• Use the Service in violation of any applicable laws
• Reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the Service

5. Subscription and Billing

ShipRelay offers a free tier and paid subscription plans. Paid plans are billed monthly or annually via Stripe. You may cancel at any time — your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period. Monthly plans are not eligible for refunds for partial billing periods. Annual plans may be refunded within 14 days of the initial charge or renewal. All other refund requests are handled on a case-by-case basis — contact support@shiprelay.io.

We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the free tier, or change free tier limits, at any time with 30 days' notice. Existing paid subscriptions are not affected by free tier changes.

6. AI-Generated Content

Changelogs generated by ShipRelay use AI (Claude by Anthropic) to transform your repository data into human-readable content. You retain full ownership of the generated content. ShipRelay does not claim any intellectual property rights over your changelogs.

AI-generated content may occasionally contain inaccuracies. You are responsible for reviewing and approving all content before publishing.

7. Data and Privacy

Your use of ShipRelay is also governed by our Privacy Policy. We collect and process your data only as described in that policy.

8. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page. Upon deletion, your account is soft-deleted immediately and all associated data is permanently removed after 30 days. Active Stripe subscriptions are cancelled immediately.

9. Limitation of Liability

ShipRelay is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, ShipRelay's total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising from or related to your use of the Service shall not exceed the total amount you paid to ShipRelay in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or fifty Canadian dollars (CAD $50), whichever is greater. In no event shall ShipRelay be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, revenue, or profits.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ShipRelay and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) content you publish or distribute through the Service; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any third-party rights.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections 6 (AI-Generated Content), 9 (Limitation of Liability), 10 (Indemnification), 11 (Termination), and 13 (Governing Law) survive termination.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario.
